SHE SAID:

Geoff said he was feeling much better today so I suggested a short drive to the other side of Lake Tyers which he agreed to.

It didn't pan out as I'd planned as 15km down the road it was flooded with a road closed sign barring our way.

We turned around & began retracing out drive when I asked Geoff to stop; I thought I'd just check out the forest in case there were any orchids. WELL to start with I found only what I thought was a dead one then as I was returning to the car I found 2 single orchids, different types too. So out came the camera & I was down in the dirt & mud snapping away.

Geoff had a wander around whilst waiting for me & found heaps more.

My tally was 3 new types & 2 I'd found before.

A pretty good haul I thought!

After about 5 minutes I'd had enough of wandering dimly through the bush. But after I found some orchids Varena's enthusiasm kept me going for another hour or so.
