SHE SAID:

We had a relaxed day at the house. It was nice not to have to get up & be anywhere in a hurry.

We did have plans for the late afternoon, meeting old friends from Darwin in the city for drinks & dinner. But it was a leisurely drive in around 3pm, & what turned out to be a quiet few drinks at Melbourne's oldest pub, the Mitre Tavern. Geoff's sister Lorrie joined us, with Darren & Damien arriving around 6pm; we had a lot to catch up on.

HE SAID:

We headed to Lorrie's place to park our car, as we knew that parking anywhere in Melbourne would be virtually impossible. Then we took a tram to William Street and investigated our destination, the Mitre Tavern. We really just thought we'd do a reccy, but then it was a warm day, and cold drinks were for sale, so we just stayed. Meeting up with Darren and Damien was fun, as it usually is. Beer, food and chat for several hours made it a good evening. Plus, I got to celebrate St Patrick's Day a bit early with several pints of Guinness!
