SHE
SAID:
As
the weather is predicted to close in tomorrow for a week or more, I
suggested we go out to the You Yang Regional Reserve today. It's
clearly visible from the house, only 20km away. They are often
referred to as the "Youies" or is it the "Uies".
We
did the "Big Rock" walk, which was a pleasant 3km round
trip, with a gentle incline to the top....My kind of hill walk!
Geoff
& I were alternating looking at the ground then looking up at the
scenery...I can't go anywhere now in the bush without having an eye
out for orchids.
Geoff
seems similarly focused too! He saw the first signs, basal leaves,
then buds & finally flowers. 100's & 100's of them!
Oh yes; Lovely views from the top too!

HE SAID:
The Youies is a small park, but quite nice. We didn't see any koalas, nor too many varieties of orchid, but we can always go back another time.
