Cairns here we come!

We drove to Sydney Airport & flew out at about 3.45pm. It was an uneventful journey, with no dramas collecting the hire car, or driving to Carol & Mal's place in Holloway's Beach.

Mal is an old work mate of Geoff's from years ago, & although he wasn't there his wife Carol & the kids made us very welcome. We had dinner by the pool; it was a lovely, warm evening.

Archie doesn't seem impressed by the view of Cairns!

It did get better as we descended through the clouds...

The whole journey went without a hitch. That was a relief. And we spent the evening chatting by the pool over dinner and drinks.
