SHE SAID:

We headed for Newcastle with Bertie today. It was a later start than we would usually do, but we had a 9am appointment in Canberra. Anyhow, the journey went well, with Geoff getting us out of Canberra & around Lake George. I took over for a while. It has been a while since I drove with Bertie on the back; it was fine.

We arrived into Thornton just after 5pm & had Bertie all set up when Annette returned.

We had dinner & wine with Annette, chatting till late.

After such a long time around Canberra and Mum it was a bit of a wrench to be leaving, knowing we will be away for such a long time. The drive north was incident free, I am glad to report.
