We were on the road just after 9am, taking the Flinders Highway east to Townsville, then the Bruce Highway north.

We bypassed Townsville, went through Ingham, & on to Cardwell. I was quite amused by Geoff's comment of the day, as we drove up the Bruce Highway, paralleling the Coral Sea;
There appears to be a pretty big lake to our right”, he was looking at the GPS.
Yes”, I replied, "that would be the ocean!"

Our lunch stop was in Cardwell, right by the “pretty big lake”, with lovely views across to Hinchinbrook Island; sun, blue sky & around 30C! YES!

We got to Tully, reacquainted ourselves with Bruce (the fur-baby), and Julie & Chris the owners, & parked Bertie off in the back garden.

Archie - on the lookout for Crocodiles

Lunch with a stunning view - toward Hinchinbrook Island

Us - spoiling the view!

So, there WAS a pretty big waterway nearby. It is hard to tell from the car's GPS. Half the time it shows roads where there are none, and half the time won't show the road we want.

It is good to finally be at our new house sit after about 6 weeks getting here.
