SHE SAID:

Geoff & I drove to Cairns to collect Daniel, who was flying in from chilly Canberra for a week's visit.

I had a 90 minute walk around the lower Botanic Gardens, the part I didn't do last time we had time to spare in the city. Geoff had a few chores to do in town.

Once Daniel got off the plane his first job was to change from Canberra woollies into shorts, t-shirt & thongs. He could immediately feel the warmth, though Geoff & I were cool!

We stopped at Mena Creek on the way back so I could do a night tour of Paronella Park; they light up the waterfalls & ruined buildings & I was keen to get some photos.
Geoff & Daniel were equally keen for beer.
WIN WIN.

HE SAID:

I had been looking forward to Dan's visit, so heading to the pub for a beer and a chat was a good idea of Varena's. We even managed to show him a snake on the side of the road on the way back to the house, just to remind him that he is not in the city any more.
