Monday 24th June

SHE SAID:

Geoff & I revisited a reserve in Mandurah that I wanted to check for the Autumn Leek Orchid. I had seen them budding & had hoped to find some flowering.

I was in luck. After searching all around Geoff found a couple close to the car in flower! LOL! It happens so often!

There were 100’s of Banded Greenhoods out too, mostly flowering, & lots of other spring orchid leaves. Shame I won’t be able to return till Mid-September when maybe they will be finishing up!

We returned to the house for lunch, with groceries for our trip which beings on Saturday, then we separated for the afternoon to the opposite ends of the house. I finished Game of Thrones up to the end of Season 7 & Geoff I think is now on Season 5! He should finish by Saturday!!!

Left & top; Autumn Leek Orchid (Prasophyllum parvifolium)
Bottom right; Autumn Leek Orchid (pale form)

Banded Greenhood (Pterostylis vittata) Regular colour left, brown variant

It was nice to help Varena out by spotting a few orchids. The bummer was that we had traipsed for an hour or more around the reserve only to find the best ones right near the car.
