Sunday 12th October
SHE SAID:
We headed out before 9am on our final orchid hunt in the area, as we are moving on tomorrow.
My planned loop trip backfired when we got to this fast-flowing creek/river (it turned out to be the Frankland River, a big river further north!). We decided not to risk crossing it; I attempted to walk across but the water was close to the top of my wellies & I felt like I was being pushed by the force of its flow. So, with only 7km to our destination, we back tracked & went back around to the Muir HW & in from the opposite direction!
It was a good day, & lots of lovely orchids were seen.
Google was funny; as usual it wasn’t doing the mapping correctly so I was whinging at it. Geoff said “Hello Google” & it asked what it could do for us. So, I said sing a song as a joke & she “sang” a Hallowe’en Song that she appeared to have made up! It had us gobsmacked & laughing out loud! “Tres Bizarre”!

HE SAID:
There were plenty of orchids found, despite the 40+ km detour around the Frankland River crossing. We thought it better to be safe than sorry.
