I had a long day out & about, mainly on an orchid hunt. I was hoping to find a Purple Donkey Orchid, & I was eventually successful! I found several types of Sun Orchid, plus a few yellow Donkey Orchids, called a Tiger or Hornet Orchid (don't know why).

I also did a couple of detours, first to the Bungonia National Park to check out the lookout there, which was actually called “The Lookdown”. I didn't see it, as there was an $8 fee to go to see it! I told the ranger that was a rip off & left. (The National Parks are free in Victoria). The other 2 lookouts at Long Point & Badgery's in the Morton National Park were free?!! What the....?!?!?

PS. I have to add this as I was totally stunned! An ad came on TV just saying that the New Year Sales had come early..... WTAF! It's bad enough getting all the Christmas crap in early November (& before) let alone New Year ads... SERIOUSLY!! This money grubbing commercialism surrounding Xmas & New Year is S***.

It was Dad's first day back at Calwell after his hospital stay, so I thought I'd stay around, just in case. I managed to waste a couple of hours trying to sort out a new sim card for Mum's mobile phone. Mum is finally leaping into the 21st century and getting a smart phone, as the 2G phone will be useless soon, when the network is shut down. But iiNet could not find any records of her number, so therefore no progress. Eventually they realised that they'd stuffed up ages ago, so mum had been getting free mobile for quite a while, but now she'll have to pay. So I feel a little guilty, but it had to be done.
