SHE SAID:

Mountain trekking day today.

This time Geoff joined me in the hunt for orchids; I was very grateful he did, too. It is always better with 2 sets of eyes looking through the shrubbery. He found me a colony of Scarlet Greenhoods, also a Rosy Hyacinth Orchid. I managed several Summer Greenhoods in various locations.

We took a picnic lunch, & sat out at the Bulls Head picnic area, though the wind was pretty chilly there.

We met up with a large walking group, who told us they were the "Wednesday Wanderers" I think from the native flora club? A friendly bunch of oldies, who helped us identify a large strange bug Geoff found. It turned out to be a Mountain Cricket.

HE SAID:

It was good to get out in the bush again. My dim wanderings in the bush found some orchids for Varena, so I was in the good books. I like it when I go out hunting orchids, but it is for the reactions Varena has, mostly. Seeing new things and places is enjoyable too, but I'm often happy just to let Varena do her thing.
