SHE
SAID:
The
rain arrived overnight, so too did the cooler temperatures. It continued on & off for the rest of the day, with the temperature not getting above 19c; rather a change from the recent run of plus 30c's.
Geoff
& I headed to the movies at Eastlands. We had our free tickets to
use, & Geoff suggested we see Deadpool. It seemed to be a send-up
of the superhero movies & was rather amusing.

HE SAID:
It seemed to rain all night and all morning. We had no real motivation to go out but there were a couple of things that we could get if we went to some shops. So, combining the practical with our free movie vouchers, we went out in the rain and off to a shopping mall.
Being at a mall was bad enough, but the worst part was the coffee. We thought we'd get a tea / coffee before our movie and headed to The Pancake Parlour next to the cinemas. This was stupid on our part. We'd been there a couple of years ago and were horrified at the prices, "but we're only getting a drink", right? As we were at a pancake place we got tempted to order a pancake. Believe it or not. But the $5.50 charge for having real maple syrup instead of maple-flavoured syrup, on top of the $13 for 2 pancakes was just too much for us. And I mean mentally, not affordably. What a rip off! So no pancakes for us!
