We
both had chores we wanted to do today.
I
cleaned the car inside & out; also the Baby Webber BBQ that
a friend had given me needed a good going over. She hadn't used it
in a couple of years!
Geoff
went charging around the gardens with the hand mower, then the
ride-on. It's a big job!
After
eggs & bacon for lunch Geoff watched the “aerial ping-pong” &
I caught up with the photo sorting & diary / Blog.

I spent a couple of hours mowing today, which I generally enjoy. Like most houses' hose connectors, mowers are another bugbear. There are always quirks with these things, and I admit that it makes me swear a lot. The ride-on here is mechanically great; the cutting blades and deck have been a constant pain, ever since a blade came off unexpectedly a couple of months ago. I can see that there have been several home-made repairs on the mower, and I agree that spending good money on an old machine is probably not worth it. For me though, I only find that there has been a past problem when I find a current problem. I've managed to keep it cutting grass thus far, and it should be fine until we leave (especially as I hope that I need to do only one more mow), but someone with a better understanding of this machine needs to become involved if it is to remain a viable and ongoing grass cutting machine.
