SHE
SAID:
We
were up at 4am today! Not by choice but the wind had really picked up,
& the awning was flapping around noisily & madly. Geoff
decided we should put it away, so I hung on whilst he dismantled it.
Neither of us, or Bertie, were blown away, thankfully.
By
the time we resurfaced, around 9am, most of our closest neighbours,
including the music drongos, had left. But the wind & dust storm
continued for the rest of the day!
No
sitting outside under the awning reading for us.

HE SAID:
There were a lot of d**khead campers here, and they left their marks; there were piles of rubbish left around the campsites. Firstly they camped way too close for our liking. Then they made a racket. Then they nicked off leaving a mess! Varena and I couldn't stand it after a while, so we went and grabbed some free heavy duty rubbish bags that the council had provided, which were near the rubbish skips that the council had provided, which were next to the portable toilets that the council had provided, and filled four bags and took them to the nearby skip. These people, the main offenders, had a toddler in a stroller, and left the dirty disposable nappies to adorn the camp ground, as well as lots of other rubbish.
So, a small starter checklist to detect a d**khead camper:
- Arriving at an impractical time or looking rushed,
- Setting up without considering their camp placement compared to others,
- Yelling or talking loudly while they set up,
- Getting the music on promptly so that everyone in the vicinity can "enjoy" it,
- Leaving a mess for others to clean up.
Of the many people here that camped within cooee only a small percentage were inconsiderate ar53holes, but they made an impression on me.
