SHE SAID:

We are staying in the Warrumbungle National Park for 3 nights. The road in was narrow, bumpy, & had a long, steady hillclimb, but it was all bitumen. The park was 90% destroyed by bush fire about 5 years ago, & although things seem to be coming back, the dead trees across the hills are very obvious.

There are plenty of walks to do & we did a short one in the afternoon, & got rained on too!

HE SAID:

The way in to the Warrumbungles was a bit ordinary for a us, towing our van. Lots of people seem to do it, but it wasn't fun. The campground is fine, and I think that there is an alternative route out for people heading our way on Friday. It is just that the way in from Coonabarabran had us wallowing, jolting, or crawling at different stages. And by the way, according to Wikipedia Coonabarabran means excrement, or as an alternative, bad smell. Perhaps a different name might have been a good idea all those decades ago?
