SHE
SAID:
Geoff
was busy mowing & watering the gardens & lawns today, whilst I
headed out orchiding. I wanted to get photos of the Austral Ladies
Tresses orchids, which were just starting to flower about 5 days ago. I found
3 types of orchids flowering in this area, but I had seen them all
before on previous trips.
Heading next for Tourist Road, I stopped at the Fitzroy Falls Canal & Reservoir for a short wander, finding lots of finished Rosy Hyacinth
Orchids. At Tourist Road I went to a different area & found a
couple of gum trees with 16 Little/Spotted Tongue Orchid plants
around the base! Also, much to my surprise & delight, I found
some Flying Duck Orchids. There were 5 plants, but only one had a
flower still going on it, but was all that was needed.
Happy,
happy, joy, joy.

I dragged out the whipper snipper out from the shed and eventually got it started. It needed the choke, but I couldn't see where it was. After looking online I found a diagram and got the bugger started straight away. After buzzing around front and back yards trimming edges it was then time to mow. It takes a while, as there is plenty of grass. But the results are pleasing, especially as the grass is very green from my watering efforts, and also the rains of last weekend.
