Tuesday 3rd April

SHE SAID:

Well, the final day of the cricket only lasted around 80 minutes...Geoff left at 9.15am and was back about 11.45am. It was free entry to the grounds, and he had his stand to himself till just before start of play...I think the Australians lost by just under 500 runs...oops.

Whilst the Aussie's were getting hammered I finally managed to get the Blog updated; well the written part at least.

HE SAID:

There was never any doubts about who was going to win this test match. South Africa led by over 600 runs, so all Australia could hope for was a slightly  redeeming show of resistance, which failed to materialise.

First ball of the day we lost a wicket. And the fourth. After that it took just over an hour to lose the match.

I am glad I came to South Africa, but I am not so glad about how the cricket panned out. I wouldn't have missed it, but it could have been a lot better, both with the match outcomes and the player behaviour.

One small silver lining for me in Australia's early demise was that I didn't have to buy stadium food for lunch. My original expectation was that the food would be different and tasty, but the reality is that it is just way overpriced convenience food such as burgers, and chips came with everything to make up for the paucity of tasty beef, chicken etc in the meal. So, just the same tripe as most stadiums I suppose.

Bloody Citibank have our money on deposit for our travel debit card, but six days after transferring the funds they are not "available". Don't computers work at night? Was there a computer apocalypse in Australia on the weekend? I am keen to hear what rubbish excuse they will come up with.
