Sunday 13th May

SHE SAID:

We went out for a drive today; a last minute decision after we spent two days hiding from the chilly weather. Firstly we headed for Rockvale, a "no horse town" in the middle of farming country. Then it was onwards to the Cathedral Rock National Park, another park on my list of orchid spots to check out. We walked along the Warrigal Track from the Native Dog campground & we found masses of orchid leaves. Three different varieties; several seeding Greenhoods, meaning the flowers were still present but browned & shrivelled.

Next stop was the main area walking area for the Cathedral Rocks, where once again many orchid leaves were found, but sadly no flowers seen.

It was a late lunch back at the house & a quiet afternoon in front of the blazing fire.

Geoff actually working for money...😁😁😁

Nope...he couldn't budge it!

HE SAID:

The first part of our bush walk was rather tedious, as the land was so dry. But around the hill, on the shadier, moister side, hopes were raised for an orchid find. Evidence of orchids was plain, but not what Varena prefers i.e. flowering orchids. Oh well..
