Monday 18th June

SHE SAID :

The rain has finally arrived! Well I got 4 rain free days here in New Zealand, which could be some kind of record!

We managed to miss getting too wet and headed to Kiataia for a drive, stopping at a tiny local history museum there. Then onto the southern end of 90 Mile Beach (which isn't...).  It was back to Kiataia for lunch, and returning to Coopers Beach the same way as we came.

But we stopped several times for photos; the blue skies and sun had returned by then.

HE SAID:

I awoke to some very welcome, albeit very light, rain this morning; all rain is welcome in this district. The weather was forecast to be worse than yesterday, and it was. There were gusty squalls most of the morning, but no snow! If it got to 5 degrees today I'd be surprised; a good day to stay by the fire.

I was very pleasantly surprised when a near neighbour popped in for a chat, and brought some yummy slice! My elevenses was pretty good today.
