Tuesday 12th June

SHE SAID:

We had what turned out to be a ½ day out today, though I'd packed lunch in case it was a full day.

Budd's Mare in the Oxley Wild River National Park, near to Walcha, was today's destination. We even left the house whilst there was still frost on the ground. Heading into the park we could see thick fog sitting in the gorge valley below. It was a cool sight, with the blue skies above.

We walked to the Paradise Rocks Lookout, a short distance from the Budd's Mare Picnic area, & were looking straight onto the blanket of fog slowly wisping up towards us. That was the most exciting thing was saw on our morning drive.

The fog was all but gone as we drove out of the valley around 12 noon
HE SAID:

I reckon we saw less than a dozen orchid leaves this morning. The potential for Varena's orchid search was great, but in reality there was very little. Lunch was still good, but we ate it the house.
