Monday 13th August

SHE SAID:

We farewelled Canberra today; leaving soon after 9am. We don't know when we will be back; no definite plans on returning.

Our journey was via Cooma & Brown Mountain. I wanted to go down the southern NSW coast, as we haven't done it before. We stopped for a cuppa at Nimmitabel, where I walked up the only street taking photographs, & Geoff spotted snow on the far hills!

We arrived at the Merimbula Lakes Holiday Park around lunch time. I was very saddened to see more than 30 dead wombats along the roadside as we travelled down from Canberra, along with countless kangaroos & wallabies. We think it is the most we have ever seen in a single-day drive.

We checked out Pambula & Merimbula after lunch, & had bubbles at the lake shore to celebrate being on the road once more.

And off we go again. We said our farewells to Mum, then headed toward Merimbula. Our journey was incident free, but the roadkill was plentiful.
