Friday 28th June

SHE SAID:

With the skies clear, & the wind gone I took the opportunity to head off for one final orchid search here in the Halls Head / Mandurah area. I had been given directions to Bluebeard Orchids flowering in the Paganoi Swamp Reserve to the north of Mandurah.

I found it, plus a few more (with the help of another orchid searcher I bumped into!).

I headed for the “swamp” area, finding loads of fungi, & plenty of pools of dank looking water; the rain had started to fill them I guess.

Paperbark Swamp

Lots of colourful fungi

HE SAID:

I left Varena to go orchiding on her own and did some preliminary packing and cleaning.
