Dorte, Jess & I rendezvoused in Augusta for an orchid hunt & to try & locate “Gus” the Elephant Seal that appears to be “lost”. They aren’t usually seen in this area; he is apparently a young 5-year-old male & has come ashore to moult.
We found him, he was on a narrow beach, easily accessible by road, which surprised me. There were quite a few people watching him & he was “kind” enough to look at us & move around. It was an awesome experience.
Oh yes, there were orchids too! Two new ones for the season, the Swamp Bunny & the Curled-tongue Shell, plus the other Bunny types we’ve been seeing, & the Leafless Orchid. We all had an excellent day.

HE SAID:
Three days since I stopped applying the cream and it looks a mess. My face has been getting redder, and angrier, and sorer each day. It is hard to sleep for any length of time, as the pain returns when my skin dries out. So I get out of bed a couple of times a night and re-apply the vaseline. This helps a bit.
