I met some local orchid nuts out at Condingup today. They were Kathy’s friends who kindly showed us some of their spots.
We mostly found buds & leaves, with lots of orchids coming… as always. It was a lovely mild, sunny day, and a lovely change from the past week's cold & wet weather.
I managed to get back to the house in time to Skype with Mum at 5pm.

Using Ean's ute I took the dog out to the retreat to stretch her legs. I also had a few things to do at the van, so we were both happy. The afternoon was taken up with an AFL match, and then a very interesting day 5 of the 2nd Ashes test at Lord's,.
Australia won, and are now 2-0 up, but Ben Stokes put on quite a show, hitting 9 sixes and scoring 150 runs very quickly. Without him England would have been toast. There was a very amusingly controversial (if you are an England supporter) incident before lunch when Bairstow forgot where he was, wandered out of his crease, and was stumped by Carey, who was standing back to a fast bowler, Green. Nothing unusual about it. Except, the England mob are crying foul, and saying that it was not in the spirit of the game! And yet, both Bairstow, and the potential replacement 'keeper Foakes, and the England coach, McCullum, have all done the same thing. Hypocrites all of them!
