Thursday 27th July
SHE SAID:
I prepared dinner, slow cooked Amish Beef, & was just starting to clean the kitchen when Kylie texted to say they were close to town. They would be at the house after dropping the caravan off at the shed. It was a mad panic to get the kitchen cleaned, as she’d told me they’d give us a couple of hours' notice!
Anyhow, we managed to be ready & load our final bits into the car.
After they returned, hugged the dog, & we did a quick handover, we headed for the Retreat for the rest of the day. The weather was awful, not orchiding friendly at all. We returned to the house around 5pm, so I could finish dinner for us all.
It was good to catch up with their travel stories & chill out with them for the evening.

HE SAID:
We were caught on the hop a bit when Kylie sent her message to Varena. The plan was she'd text from Ravensthorpe, a good 2 hours away. Anyway, lucky for us Varena is well organised and we only had a quick burst to get the rest of what we wanted done.
The morning weather was atrocious, so we had the fire going from early on. Kylie and Ean had to drive through all sorts to get home.
I tried to help Kylie re-establish the Starlink Internet at the retreat, which died the day before they left on their trip north. It didn't work. It is supposed to be a quick and simple process. But it wasn't. Our exasperation led to Kylie calling the Starlink help line, which was a difficult number to find, automated, and with a message that someone may get back to you in 48 to 72 hours! Crap service!
Dinner was excellent, as usual, with Ean and I accidently drinking lots of red wine.
