We said goodbye to Kylie & Ean & Esperance today. It’s been a busy 5 weeks with about 32 different flowering orchids, but time to head west again. We have 11 days to get to Albany & our next sit.
Our morning tea stop was at the Ned’s Corner burn, where there were loads of Pink Bunnies coming up in the blackened sand, a pretty sight.
After setting up at the Ravensthorpe Caravan Park we headed off to another burn, which was totally devoid of any regrowth; no trees, orchids or even weeds. It was a sad sight! And that pretty much set the scene for the rest of the day, few orchids were found. It was rather dry everywhere we went, so different from wet Esperance.

We finished our packing up, said our goodbyes, and hit the road again. Heading to Ravensthorpe the winds had us rocking a bit, but all was well in the end. In the evening Katherine from Miami rang, so we had a good chat about our potential house-sit next year, as well as lots of other things. I guess I haven't spoken to her for 45 years!
