Friday 31st January
SHE SAID:
The end of January already. I can sense that this year will fly by again... I must be getting old!
I used the last of the Gardenup Farm eggs to make curried eggs for lunch. That’s 5 months with free eggs coming to an end! Great while it lasted!

HE SAID:
With not much planned for the day I managed a couple of small jobs before the cricket came on. I can only see either Australia winning, or a draw from this point in the match. Sri Lanka are losing wickets regularly and are massively behind. One unusual thing I did this morning was to cover up the hole dug by a fox, or something, that had attempted to get at the recently buried sheep. I back-filled the hole then covered it was some garden mesh, then whacked an old wooden pallet from the burn pile on top. Hopefully that helps keep scavengers out.
After calming down a little from my failed attempts to get tickets for the World Test Championship match at Lord's in June on Wednesday I had another crack at the seemingly impossible task in the evening when the so-called public sale opened. Once again I was prepped and ready at the opening time, with computer charged and logged in to the Lord's site, phone charged and Lord's app running, and credit card in hand...
Well, the priority ticket window on Wednesday was an absolute disaster, so why, oh why, when the tickets became availabe to the masses today, who did not win a ballot, who did not get access to the priority ticket window, the tickets were available, even though in limited supply? When I managed to get onto the ticket platform I was number 4508. So I thought I had no hope at all. Yet, I managed to get some tickets to the first four days. Monitoring my email for confirmation of my purchases I received an email notification that the public ticket window had opened, but it was 32 minutes late! These Brits need to have a serious look at the absolute cluster-f*ck that is their ticketing system!
