Sunday 19th January
SHE SAID:
Kath & I had a winery touring day, managing to get to 3 wineries, including my favourite, Voyager Estate, which was new to her. She really enjoyed the wines there.
We had a look around Cowaramup, Dear Darnell’s, & Margaret River too.
We got back in time for me to Skype with Mum, then make the lovely Tomato & Feta Pasta for dinner. I used home grown tomatoes & basil from the gardens here. Yummo!

My plans for the day were more house-based than Varena and Kath. I knew that the girls would enjoy the sightseeing, wineries, and art that they would find on their travels, so I left them to it. Instead, I had my first go on the ride-on mower, mainly to familiarise myself with its use, and where it could and could not go, as well as to trim the grass and clear up a lot of the fallen leaves. The mowing, even though it was just a general go, without whipper snipping edges or doing corners with the push mower, only took around 45 minutes. The tidiness made me feel better, too.
It was lucky that I chose today to mow, as the owner's friend, Garry, turned up in the late afternoon to collect Colleen's car for a service tomorrow. So, having the place look tidy was good.
There were also other jobs: washing clothes, spraying weeds, testing the sprinkler system, among others. The last round of the BBL was also on, so it needed to be watched.
