Thursday 6th March
SHE
SAID:
The
3 of us headed to Jan & Roydon’s place in Busselton for a catch
up. They are orchid hunters like Nikki & me. On the way we got
some yummy biscuits from the Italian bakery in Abbey.
Jan
asked for some IT support which thankfully Nikki was able to provide,
& we spent a couple of hours there talking mostly about orchids
but other stuff too.
After
that I dropped Nikki at the coach stop for her trip back to Bunbury;
it has been a lovely 2 days with her visiting. Geoff & I had a
swim in the late afternoon as the weather has got hot again. It was
over 35C today, though the water was surprisingly cool!

Three of Jan & Roydon's foster kittens...too cute! |
HE SAID:
I had met Jan and Roydon once before, but very briefly. I knew they were orchid nuts and was really only going along for potential IT support, and elevenses, of course. There was lots of chat, with orchids being the main topic, but the half dozen foster kittens were certainly not left out!
I had bought a six-pack of Guinness Extra Stout this morning, inspired by Nikki's enthusiasm for Guinness. So, at beer o'clock I poured myself one, and also sent a photo of it to my Uncle Paul in Byron Bay. He loves the stuff, usually has a supply in the fridge, and is waiting for Tropical Cyclone Alfred to cross the coast near Brisbane sometime between now and Saturday, potentially bringing heaps of wind and rain to Byron. Kathy is in Brisbane, but away from the coast, so hopefully all will be well too. I guess we'll know more in a couple of days.
