SHE SAID:

Another year has flown by & 61 has crept up on me!

Geoff made us a cooked breakfast which went down very well, there was no need for lunch for me. Then he tackled the Devil's Food Cake, too. Whilst he was busy in the kitchen I headed to the van to start the tidying up, cleaning & repacking of things.

The smell of cooked cake greeted me as I returned to the house an hour or so later; yummo.

I also wanted to tackle mowing the lawns. It has been a couple of weeks since they were done & the grass is going crazy. I haven’t used a lawn mower in maybe 10 years, & never on my birthday!

I was happy to do it myself, but Geoff thought he would be up to it, so I did the hand mowing & he did the ride-on. It looked great when it was finished.

Geoff had a surprise for me, after the mowing was done, he found a completely eaten rabbit by the front door. The body still intact, but no flesh, the head, arms & legs had fur on them, but something had cleaned all the flesh from the spine & all fleshy bits! What did that we have no idea; cat, fox???

Dorte & Gary joined us for the Geoff-made birthday cake around 4.30pm, & they brought bubbles, flowers, & a little gift too; naughty, naughty!

We had home delivered curries from the Hidden Kitchen Curry House for dinner, which went down well. Yet another surprise, a Simmo’s Ice Cream Cake with more candles & dinosaurs on it! 

Gary called me & himself dinosaurs, as we are over 60 now! Not sure how I feel about that!!!

Not the best birthday present I have ever had!!! 😒

HE SAID:

It is Varena’s birthday, so I tried to look after her best I could. The mowing was actually her suggestion! And I used it as a motivation to get involved too, and I’m glad I did. Unfortunately, due to my vertigo, I had to defer our special birthday lunch, but we’ll do it next week.

Gary and Dorte arrived a bit after 4pm and we had a chatty afternoon. Dinner was tasty, and easy, and we followed the curry with ice cream cake. Very indulgent.
