Monday 3rd November

SHE SAID:

We had a change of plans today, instead of moving to the storage place in Vasse we had an extra night at the caravan park. They offer the 3rd night at ½ price which brought the daily charge down from an awful $48.50, to $40 per night. Still a horrendous rip-off but slightly better.

We needed to do a few things in town so headed off there.

Then it was a fairly quiet time at the van for the rest of the day, apart from me contacting the NI people in the UK to find out what has happened to the money I sent to top up my pension; it was sent in mid-July. They have received the money, but not allocated it, nor even bothered to acknowledge receipt!

That done it was the packing next. Geoff had gotten his done & was out of the way so I could tackle mine. It is a game of shuffling things around to get suitcases packed in a caravan!

HE SAID:

Staying the extra night at the van park was a better arrangement for us than staying in the van at the storage place, where there are no facilities of any kind.

Varena dreads having to call the UK National Insurance people. This process has been underway for a few years now. They do all correspondence in writing, then post it around the world, rather than electronically, so a phone call, as clumsy and arduous as it is to get to speak to a human, then go through the security hoops, is by far more productive. Anyway, we are now a bit better informed. I know it will be worth it in the end, but at he moment it is quite a chore.
