SHE SAID:

The ute’s Dash-Cam hasn’t worked properly since we got the car, so today we returned to Range Ford in Maddington to get it looked at. It was an hour's drive there going into the tail end of the rush hour. I’d hate to have to do this drive every day!

We were told the Ford contractor wouldn’t be there till after 2pm, so we got a courtesy car & headed to the Carousel Shopping Mall for a cuppa & a few things. Then on to the Gosnell’s Hotel to meet with Martina & Ric for lunch. It was a 2 ½ hour chatty lunch, with them telling us about their decision to go vegan, quit WANOSCG, & orchid updates.

Geoff got the call about the car around 3pm, so we parted company, picked up the car & once again crawled back up the highways to Quinn’s Rocks. The return trip was 1 hour 15mins, as we were going with rush hour traffic out of the city.

HE SAID:

We had over 8 hours out and about, leaving before 9am and returning after 5pm. A couple of those hours were in traffic, which is never fun. I was rather tired when we got back to the house. I’m not sure what Range Ford ended up doing, as it is difficult to say whether the old dashcam was put back in, or whether it was replaced. We’ll monitor its performance, but I have a feeling that we’ll have to push for more action before too long.

Lunch with Ric and Martina was chatty, as always. Going vegan is obviously important for them, so we discussed that a lot, and orchids got a going over, as usual. I didn’t have a beer as I was driving the dealership loan car, a hybrid MG, which seems better than the one we hired in Sydney, but I am still scarred.

Varena whipped up a tasty light dinner of smoked salmon and corn fritters to tide us over.
