We
drove less than 100km to Carnamah for our next 2 nights, though if we
had followed the GPS it would have been 200km!
I
had 2 surprising Facebook messages today; the first was good. It was
from the Australian Coral Coast tourist publication asking whether they could
use some of my photos in their new brochure!
The 2nd one
was a complaint from the WANOSCG administrator about my orchid posts
to another Facebook site, giving away too much information about some
of the orchid places I went to “up north”. The lady who showed me the sites said she didn’t have an issue with what I had written... so
who knows where this is coming from! Ho Hum...other people!

Having never heard of Carnamah until a couple of days ago I was pleasantly surprised with the town. The van park is off the highway, with neat and clean facilities.
Varena is keen to look for orchids, surprise! But the message about over-sharing orchid sites was a blow. It seems that there are at least two camps/groups/social media forums of orchid people that clash. Varena had been really vague about most orchid sites, just giving district or park names for people to search, so I think she may be being used by one group against another. If we can stay out of the politics and just let Varena enjoy the orchids I will be happy.
