Heading west to Hay today, not far down the road. We were at the showgrounds for a 1.00pm lunch & off "seeing the sights" by 1.30pm. The town advertises 5 museums to see; we managed two. At the old station there is the history of the WW2 internment camps which were in Hay.

We drove past the old gaol & around the "Long Paddock" art trail down on the Murrumbidgee River, then stopped at the Bishop's House, which was made of corrugated iron; very large for Hay & quite interesting to wander through.

As we are on the "flattest area in the southern hemisphere" I suggested we head out of town a bit to see the sunset. With red wine, chairs & nibbles in hand we sat toasting the setting sun.

HE SAID:

It was a fairly short tour of Hay, as it is only a small town. My grandfather was here during WW2 with the army, but mum couldn't recall in what capacity, nor at what camp.
