SHE SAID:

Mum & I headed down to Brighton, leaving Geoff to his own devices today. He has just downloaded Windows 10 onto his computer, so that should keep him occupied for the day. Plus, we have left him a list of computer related things to do on our PC's too!

It was a sunny, almost warm, day in Brighton, packed with people. We wandered through Churchill Square Mall, The Lanes, then down onto the front. We had an expensive sandwich in The Lanes, even sitting outside to eat them.

It was around 5pm before we got back to Horsham.

Geoff suggested fish'n'chips from Mum's favourite chippy, which went down nicely.

HE SAID:

Despite leaving Varena and Jan to head of on a girlie day out to Brighton, I still recall the first time I went to Brighton, about 20 years ago. The Brighton Pavilion is famously hideous, but interesting because of it. The beach is famous too, but I doubt that any self-respecting Aussie beach-goer would go there on purpose, except for a giggle.

An expanse of large pebbles separates the virtually still water from a high wall, behind which is a road and an esplanade of shops, hence the deck chairs, which are needed to keep you up and off the actual beach-y bits. A warm jumper, gloves and beanie is often needed, along with an umbrella.
