SHE
SAID:
We
“hit” Nottingham today. It is only about 5 minutes to the city
centre & we had a wander around the Old Market Square. I was
surprised to see tram lines through the streets. I didn't realise
there were any in England now, maybe they have been reintroduced!
Nottingham
Castle is close to the BnB, also to “Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem” Inn,
supposedly the oldest pub in England, Circa 1189! Geoff had to try
their local ale & have a go at the “pub game”! (Slinging a
ring on a chain attached to the ceiling & trying to hook a horn
stuck on the wall...)
We
had a quiet afternoon at the flat, but headed out for dinner back at
the oldest pub. We had the steak, dessert & a bottle of wine deal for £32
& it was excellent. Probably the best meal out yet.

I was rather pleased to be able to say that I had drunk an ale, in a cave, under a castle, whilst in the oldest pub in England.
