SHE SAID:

Well, two weeks of doing the Blog once a week is OVER! We have decided that it doesn't make life any easier, in fact, for me it is harder to recall everything for the whole week & trying to put up the photos en mass is really painful. So it is back to the old way!

Our first real look at Skye today, & we headed off to south-west-ish area to Dunvegan Castle & Neist Point Lighthouse. We saw neither really. The castle was from a distance & the lighthouse not at all. The walk to the lighthouse was a fair way & there wasn't any parking around, with loads of other people there before us.

We did see plenty of great scenery, & the sun did try for us, till about lunch time when we returned to Crab Cottage.

Rain coming...

Across Loch Dunvegan to Dunvegan Castle home to the Macleod Clan for 700 years

View around Neist Point

The Neist Point Lighthouse is beyond this hill, if you care to walk over it!
NOT ME! & Geoff didn't even get out of the car!

There were at least 5 waterfalls coming off these cliffs, this one being the most obvious

A modern version of the crofting house; there is "chicken wire" across the roof with heavy
stones attached to hooks to hold the wire & the thatch down in strong winds!
HE SAID:

Our Bed and Breakfast on Skye is remarkably well set up. It was a very pleasant surprise when we arrived. They had thought of just about everything.

Skye is a scenic, farming island and has livestock on many of the roads, and subsequently lots of manure on the roads too. I just thought I'd point it out.
