SHE SAID:

With the promise of a mainly sunny day we headed of to the Trotternish Range area of Skye, supposedly the most scenic & dramatic area. The weather disappointed us. It was overcast & grey most of the time. But the scenery of Fairy Glen, the Quiraing, Kilt Cliffs & the Old Man of Storr didn't disappoint. We also stopped at the Museum of Island Life, which told the story of everything on Skye.

The capital of Portree was our final stop for food, photos & fuel.

HE SAID:

There was more scenery today. And lots of driving. I felt sorry for the locals of Skye before they had electricity in their homes. Here it is, barely at the end of summer, and it was freezing cold, both inside and out. And one of the stone buildings at the Skye Museum was actually a house, occupied until 1957 by a family of 14! All three rooms in the house must have been rather full.
