SHE SAID:

After Geoff's “battering with hail”, we set off for Oban in the pouring rain! Our worst rain day in the whole Scotland trip! Not bad for 3 weeks of being here!

We had one stop, at Eilean Donan Castle on the edge of Loch Alsh, made famous in the Highlander movie & a James Bond film.

We missed out on the stunning (we assume) scenery down the coast to Fort William, and Ben Nevis was shrouded in cloud & rain. Detouring to Glenfinnan to see the viaduct was a waste of time...rain, rain, rain.

Luckily, by the time we got to the YHA in Oban the rain had stopped. We have a “motel style” room with ensuite & a view of Oban Bay on the Sound of Kerrera.

HE SAID:

Today was probably the worst rain day on our UK trip yet. It started with hail while I chatted to our BnB host, then basically poured for several hours while barely attaining double digit temperatures on our journey to Oban. The rain stopped during the late afternoon so we had a quick wander along the waterfront near our digs.
