SHE SAID :
Mum woke full of
cold, and coughing madly.
She didn't want
to do the final tour, so l headed out to the Alsace Wine Villages,
took a million pictures and returned for lunch.
No improvement
in Mum, to the point l called for help around 10pm. The ambulance
came, and due to Mum's very laboured breathing, they decided to take
her to the hospital.
She was admitted
overnight.

| The stocks here come every year to nest, & with nests weighing up to 1/2 a ton, the locals have built platforms so they nest on these rather that roofs of houses |

Communications with Varena whilst she was on the cruise was rather crap. The onboard WiFi barely supported a quick Skype voice call, and Varena and Jan were unable to use email. The phone reception was iffy, and as they were travelling through a number of countries, hard to organise.
It sounded as though Jan was suffering from a bad cold, but we were hopeful that all would be well enough for their scheduled return tomorrow.
