Geoff
& I planned to take it easy today. We walked down to the very
unattractive “seaside”, with high concrete barriers between the
“beach”/sea & the town. It was windy & grey & not
very pleasant, & we didn't hang around long.
Mum
& John had joined us for the walk but headed back to the hotel &
out to Cromer for a look around.
We
just headed back to our room, & vegged, trying to stay warm!
We
all joined up again for dinner in the town. It was another very nice
meal at The Lobster.

Our dinner venue. We disagreed with Bill Bryson's comment (in his latest book), about no nice pubs or restaurants - the meal was very nice

Luckily NOT our hotel...on the Sheringham seafront

The very unattractive Sheringham seaside - all concrete!

More natural scenery beyond the concrete

YES it was COLD!

A couple of murals that try to brighten the town

Down at the old station
HE SAID:
Sheringham = uninspiring. The village itself seemed fine, with plenty of small shops. But for a supposed seaside resort town the seaside was the worst aspect. It may be a case of it being a nice change for someone that lives inland all year (and only in summer I guess), but if you are looking for a good beach then keep on driving.
