Sunday 14th February 2016

SHE SAID:

I headed out for a few hours today; the weather is hot & sunny, so I'm making the most of it.

First stop was Kingston Markets, then a stroll along the foreshore; it's all been built on with flash expensive apartments & a mini canal to what might be a pier / boating area (that is still under construction).

Next was the Jerrabomberra Wetlands, where I walked around the lake/swamp. I didn't spot anything exciting though there were a few water birds around & the croaking of frogs.

I got all historical with the next stop, the old Duntroon Dairy, which is the oldest building in Canberra.

And my final stop for the day was Mugga Mugga Cottage, an old station cottage once attached to the Duntroon Estate. This is only open on the weekends & I was the only visitor & had a guided tour around the old buildings.
The pedestrian precinct around the new foreshore development
Quirky seats that dot the area
Canberra's "canal"!
Rock art!
Apartments & the Old Bus Depot Markets in the background
Not quite the "bridge of sighs"

Another warm day so I decided to not mow the lawn. It can wait!
