Today
was about a 330km day to a stop at a horse stud station stay, near
Mingela. Grass Hut Station or Rhondu Stud is a 100,000 acre station
with cows, horses & bison.
The
little grassed area along the paperbark tree lined creek was very
pleasant, though the creek only runs after heavy rains (we were told
by the owners). There was one other van there when we arrived, &
we sat around the camp fire chatting with the other couple, Jill &
Steve, into the night.
The lovely patch of green grass wasn't allowed to be parked on, just admired! |

We sneakily sat on the grass & weren't told off! |
Grass Hut Station - the name comes from the fact that the area used to be a tiny
town called Grass Hut! Nothing remains of the town/village now
|
Walking along the creek |
The sunset wasn't much so here is the black & white version! |

We enjoyed our first day back on the road. The roads today weren't great, with lots of undulations, but I reckon a bitumen road is much better than a dirt road when towing the van.
