Saturday 3rd March

SHE SAID:

We had a few hours game hunting again in Chobe National Park, before our departure for Sable Alley. We saw plenty again but nothing new.

The 6 seater plane was full with, the pilot and his student and 2 German tourists. We were dropped at Sable Alley in the Okavango first, in drizzling rain. This lodge was lovely, less than one year old.

Our afternoon game drive was with a couple of very well travelled South Africans, who were friendly and great at spotting game. The mother Leopard with her 7 week old cub, plus the 3 female lions and their 6 cubs were the highlights of the  drive.

HE SAID:

Getting to see leopards, more lions, and lots of other creatures was quite exciting. Being a private reserve (240,000 hectares I think) the drivers do not have to stick to the existing tracks, so were occasionally darting through scrub and rolling over small trees in order to get a view of the animals. It was fun.

As the camp is unfenced we were warned that we should not walk during darkness without a staff member, because, you know... man eating beasts. Interesting.
