SHE SAID:
A very Happy 50th Birthday to my wonderful hubby.
It was an early start, as we had a 2 hour bird spotting cruise on the Zambezi River. (No lie-in today for the birthday boy!). We spotted over 30 different species of birds, though my photos won't reflect that number, as some were very far away.
We also saw dozing hippos and a small Nile Crocodile, and Impala gazelles.
Back in town we checked the craft markets, resisting all offers to buy stuff, and then went & did the "Flight of Angels" helicopter ride over the falls. Awesome views, and on our return to the helipad the pilot took us in low, over zebra and giraffes.
To round out the "Mega Festival Day of Geoff" we did the Traditional African dinner and show called Boma.

It was an early start to a busy day. A boat cruise, helicopter trip, and "African Experience" were all memorable. I was game enough to try eating kudu (antelope) and warthog, and I also tasted the vile bush beer, but I couldn't bring myself to try the mopane worms. I must have been too full!
