We
left Kath's place around 11am, after walking to Double Bay to meet
her for breakfast; she had already eaten & Geoff wasn't hungry!
So I had breakfast!
We
had decided to take the train to Canberra. I'd never done it &
Geoff thinks he was quite young the last time he did it. We had
booked seats, much nicer than cattle class on the planes. The journey
was slow, taking around 4 ¼ hours....not sure why when the coach can
get through the Sydney traffic in around 3 hours.
Anyhow, we were back to Canberra around 4.30pm. Steph was there having come
up from Melbourne for work. It was nice to catch up with her; it has
been a while.

With jet lag still playing around with my body clock I woke at 3am then slept in until 9.
The train to Canberra was incident free for us, but not for the old lady with a dog who was travelling in the same carriage as us. For some reason she had this "Assistance Dog" that needed to be with her on the train, despite it not being a proper certified assistance dog, and that it needed to be on the seat next to her. The train staff dealt with her quite well, and seemed fair, accommodating and gentle, but she resisted them at every step. My final assumption was the she just wanted to travel with her dog and had a raft of excuses. At least it didn't whine, yap, or crap.
It was good to be back at familiar Farrer, with Mum and Steph toboast chat to over dinner.
