SHE
SAID:
We
had planned on quiet day but I found that a winery near Tingha was
having an "Autumn Festival", with a spit-roast lunch....We
couldn't resist.
We
travelled up the highway to Guyra before turning north west to
Tingha. The winery was through a state forest & quite hard to
find (we missed the turn first time!). We were surprised at the
amount of people there when we arrived; probably around 80 to 100.
Tables & chairs were set out in the garden overlooking the vineyard.
We
tasted several of the wines & shared our table with a couple from
Armidale. It was a pleasant way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon, with a
game of trivia set in the vines, & about wines, to entertain us as
well.
We had a short stop at "Thunderbolts Cave"
just south of Guyra

Geoff didn't spot any bushrangers or flowering orchids! |
Colourful autumn trees on the highway at Guyra |
The annual Lamb & Potato Festival in Guyra was in January...so we missed it.
But the statue was almost as good...!

Eastern Rosellas are shy & hard to photograph. These pictures are through the bedroom window! |
HE SAID:
We'd had a long drive yesterday so had no plans for today. Then, when Varena found that a winery was having an event, off we went. It was an good afternoon, but libations were limited due to the need to drive home.
