SHE
SAID:
The
weather was awesome, so Ang and I headed for the very scenic Mount
Taranaki. I took a ton of photos from far away and close up. There
were a few wispy clouds floating by, which made for interesting
photos.
We
had a warming cuppa at the nearby hotel and by the time we were back
in the city the clouds had completely covered the mountain views and
it had begun raining.
After
lunch the weather had cleared down on the bay, so we drove along the
coast to more scenic views. Then wandered around some of the city's
street art, before finishing at the museum.
The
day ended at the White Stag Hotel for Japanese style dinner.

Dropping some mail at the Uralla post office this morning I surprised everyone by also going to a market!
I know!
Not needing any doilies, second-hand kids' toys, or used coats, I was gone in under 10 minutes with some caramel slice and a tomato relish.
The continuation of Australia's national teams being unable to actually win a game recently has continued. It may sound like sour grapes, but Ireland's win over the Wallabies could have been different if the video ref could see what everyone else saw. The close margin made it exciting, though, as I have mentioned here in the past, what is wrong with a field goal attempt with 10 minutes to go? Wouldn't a one or two point lead with 10 minutes to go be better than trying (and so often failing) to score a try to lead by 5+ points. I think so.
A bit of pedant coming out: listening to the local Armidale ABC radio while driving I found myself correcting the people on the broadcast, out loud. They kept pronouncing homage and negotiate like they were taking the mickey, but they were being serious. I always refer back to The Oxford English Dictionary, and my memory; so since when (except with Roy and HG doing it on purpose) is the "age" in homage said to rhyme with barge? And since when (except when all media took the piss out of Julia Gillard) is negotiate ("negoshiate") said with the "t" sound as an "s" (as in "negosiate")? Nuts!
