Monday 23rd July

SHE SAID:

Today we went up to Hat Head, which is about 100km north of Kew.
As usual we took the “scenic” route, around the Belmore Swamp, the road less travelled is always much more interesting. There were lots of water birds on the large tracks of water, the Belmore River was quite large & flowed into the Macleay River as we approached Gladstone.

We eventually found our way onto the Korogoro Track around Hat Head. It is a 3.2km track, taking about 2 ½ hours to complete. There were plenty of stops for stunning views, whales, a lace monitor & dolphins. Oh yes & Geoff spotted the only orchid for the day, it was a new one for the area too....well done hubby.

There were so many awesome views today I couldn't decide on the best ones!

The grade 4 bush track around Hat Head; a little hairy in places.
But well worth the effort

The end of the track  (for us); we think the arch I was hoping to see was down to the right
but we couldn't see a way to get a closer look so gave up.

HE SAID:

Our wanderings around Hat Head was a good day out. There were so many whales frolicking off shore. And I got another yummy picnic lunch. All good.

I lodged the Unpaid Item report about the generator with eBay today. Now I have to wait another 4 days. Hmmm.
