SAID:
My
intended day out circular drive along the Coopernook Forest Way was
great till around half way, when we came across a closed road sign
due to logging ahead!
We had headed along the coastal strip to Diamond Head & Crowdy Head;
both scenic stops, with Crowdy Head having a “whale show” up on
the headland. Then it was through Harrington, & skirting
Coopernook, to get on the scenic drive of the Coopernook Forest Way.
We
checked out Vincent's Lookout, Newby's Cave & Lookout, Starr Creek
Rainforest boardwalk, & Big Nellie. We stopped at Flat Rock Lookout
for lunch, before finding our way barred & having to turn around &
double back almost to Coopernook, where we joined the highway back to
Kew.
It
was a nice almost day out, with beautiful blue skies & mild
weather. I got a few photos for the Blog, of course.

Big Nellie is a volcanic plug rising out of the bush.
There is also a "Flat Nellie" & a "Little Nellie", though we didn't see them!

HE SAID:
It was a very pleasant drive through the coastal heath, hills and forests of the area. The weather was great, though it was cold in the wet gully at Newbys cave. After getting back to the house around 2pm we set the van up for the move to get new tyres tomorrow morning.
